Douglas Cooper

Tacoma, Washington - Douglas Harry Cooper (1951-2023): Raised in Spokane, Doug began his lifelong love of cycling and music in his youth. In 1978, he married Charlene and soon after had two children, Ashleigh and Evan. Between moves to Great Falls and Bellingham, Doug earned his BS in Psychology and started his 20+ year career in social work. He was a passionate advocate for those affected by discrimination or life's hardships. Doug's love for his wife, children and friends were evident, and their successes brought him immense joy. In his final years he persevered to enjoy his beloved grandchildren, Mira, Eleanor and Murray. While surrounded by loved ones, Doug's journey with cancer came to an end on June 23, 2023. He is survived by his wife, children and brother Van. A celebration of Doug's life is planned in Tacoma for July 22. Please reach out to his family for details on how to attend.
