Tommy Thompson - Class Of 1972

(Age 59) Passed away November 11, 2013 at his home in Spokane, WA. He was born April 7, 1954 in Spokane to Billie Joe and Naomi Ruth Thompson. He graduated from Ferris High School and would go on to work for the Long Lake Lumber Company. He later joined the Carpenters Union and moved to Anchorage, Alaska, living there for 25 years working as a club bouncer and for an inventory company, he also managed apartments. Tommy loved the water and worked as a lifeguard and pool manager at Liberty Park. He became a certified scuba diver. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, all sports and jigsaw puzzles. He was a proud blood donor, donating over 10 gallons of blood. Tommy also played Santa Claus for several years for the kids that he loved so much. He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew Anthony Decker. Tommy is survived by his brothers Bill Thompson of Spokane, Nick (Lynne) Thompson of Gold Hill, OR, sisters Cheryl Kilmer, Janine (Paul) Millikin, and Teresa (Doug) Wilponen all of Spokane. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, November 19 at 1:00 pm At Greenwood Memorial Terrace, 211 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA. Following the service a celebration of Tommy’s life will be held at the Spokane Valley Eagles Lodge from 2:30 – 5:00 pm 16801 E. Sprague. Family requests that donations be made in Tommy’s name to his favorite charity, Toys for Tots, 5101 N. Assembly Street, Spokane, WA 99205.
