Karen Baker (Taylor) - Class Of 1983 VIEW PROFILE

TAYLOR,
Karen Ann (Baker)

Of Spokane, WA. passed away September 30th after a fierce battle with melanoma. Born in Honolulu on September 16th, 1965, to Bobby and Marlys (Strilcove) Baker, she was the youngest of four girls and spent her childhood on various military bases in the U.S. and abroad. Karen graduated from Joel E. Ferris High School, where she was a cheerleader, and had her only child in 1984. She held a degree in robotics from Spokane Community College, and was a Spokane Municipal Court clerk. Karen married Cory Taylor in October of 1999.
Karen had an instantly recognizable laugh, and she laughed often. She loved her dogs like her own children, she was an animal lover who wouldn't hesitate to report dogs locked in hot cars or search for others' stolen pets. Karen was a doting grandmother to her two grandchildren, whom she adored and spoiled every chance she got. Her great wish was to travel, something she did as often as she could, taking trips to the Oregon Coast with her husband and visiting her daughter and grandchildren in England. She had wanted to spend her remaining time traveling the world, she wanted to see everything.
Karen is survived by her husband Cory Taylor, daughter Michaela Hoban, sisters Bobbi Boyer, Maxeen Baker, and Lori Bond, her mother Marlys Bliesner, nieces Aleah, Makenna, and Victoria, nephew Dylan, and grandchildren Juniper and James. She is also survived by her best friend Julie Glenn, and her many friends who miss her vivacious personality and absolute joy at life. She was a force of nature impossible to describe in a few paragraphs, her loss is immeasurable, and our hearts are shattered.
Services for Karen will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 W. Government Way, on Saturday, October 8th, at 1:30pm. Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 6th, from 10am-5pm, and Friday, October 7th, from 8am-5pm.
