Kennewick , Washington - Shirley L Nelson 63, passed away unexpectedly on September 4, 2021 due to a tragic traffic accident in Pasco,Wa. Shirley was born on July 25, 1958 in Spokane, Was the daughter of Roger Bergin and Shirley LeBlanc
Shirley graduated from Ferris high school , Spokane Wa class of 1976. Shirley married the love of her life, Monty E Nelson on September 4, 1982. With that she gained a step daughter ( Jami ) Shirley and Monty had two children ( Monty Lee and Jennifer ) of their own. They were able to celebrate 17 years of marriage before the untimely death of her husband Monty in May of 1999. Shirley lived in and experienced multiple towns and states gaining friends along the way. Shirley's no nonsense approach to life led to many of those friends becoming family to her. Often a behind the scenes hero, Shirley was always there to love and comfort those in need. Shirley's beautiful smile lit up any room and her contagious laugh brought joy to all. Wether it be school, sports, cars, harley's or boats you could bet mom had been there and done that. Shirley was not a know it all individual, yet her simple and complex way of going about things made you wonder if anything could phase her. Shirley's zest for life was one that could not be ignored. Everyone that had the pleasure of knowing Shirley knew she was something special. Shirley's partner in crime for the last 17 years was Lance McClanahan. Shirley and Lance enjoyed many things together, especially car shows and the 1933 Willys they were in at the time of the accident. Together, they did life their way. Shirley was the office manager at Oswalt Teel and Franklin of Kennewick with whom she had been with since 1994. Shirley's favorite quote
" Have I told you Lately, How much I love you " will be remembered and cherished forever.
Shirley was predeceased by grandparents Vee and Ben Bergin, her father Roger Bergin, mother Shirley LeBlanc Burkhead, father in law Cecil Nelson and husband Monty E Nelson
Shirley is survived by her son Monty L Nelson Kennewick, Wa daughter Jennifer Nelson(Chris) Pasco, Wa step daughter Jami Graybeal Goins Rockhill, Sc sister Shannon Bergin (Dan ) Richland, Wa aunt Carol Bergin, St. George, Ut father in law Wes Burkhead Kennewick, Wa the entire living Nelson, Bergin and Burkhead Families and her beloved grandchildren Camden, Brody, Noah and Madden
A celebration of life will take place at Stone-Ridge Estates , 220 Carr Road Pasco Wa on Saturday October 9th, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
A catered reception will be held at the Grange Hall , 6300 W Court St Pasco, Wa at 4:00 pm until the dust settles
