Allan L Jones - Class Of 1973

ALLAN L. JONES June 11,1955 - December 5, 2004 Allan was raised in Spokane, attended Ferris High School and graduated from Washington State University. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. In 1979, he married his college sweetheart Nanci Veblen; they made their home in Redmond, Washington where they raised their two children Kylee, 19, and Nick, 17, and Oscer the Dog. Al had a passion for boating, he also enjoyed water-skiing, wake boarding, and wake surfing. He loved to golf and got a hole-in-one last year. Allan coached baseball for 10 years, and loved spending time with the kids. Allan groaned (but secretly loved) each and every one of Nanci's ongoing garden projects. Allan adored his children and encouraged Nick and Kylee to fulfill their dreams. Whether Kylee was scuba diving, visiting Disney World, swimming, or off to college, or Nick was playing baseball, snowboarding or wake boarding, Al was very proud of their many accomplishments. Allan started working with Nanci's father, David Veblen many years ago in the real estate business. Their respect and love for each other was extremely important to Allan. Al was highly creative in his work, and incorporated that talent into an amazing ability to come up with extra special funny and loving gifts for his family. Allan adored his friends and family and will be deeply missed and never, ever forgotten by all that had the joy and honor of knowing him. Besides his immediate family, Al is survived by his mother, Lois Jones of Seattle; his father, Roy and his wife, Margel Jones of Spokane; sisters Karen, Leslie, and Maria; three nieces and nephewsa as well as his father- and mother in-law, David and Shirley Veblen of Woodinville. A service of love and remembrances will be held Sunday, December 12, 2pm at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, NE 12th Street at 84th Avenue NE in Medina, Washington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Al's memory to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance; Attn.: Kristin Buckley; PO Box 19023, J5- 200; Seattle, WA. 98109-1023.
