Survived By: Patrick is survived by his wife Sally Pfeifer of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, sister Nancy Bridgens, son Michael Pfeifer, daughters Jeannie Lynn Brown, Stephanie Pfeifer Splater, and Alyssa Kaye Ando, as well as his grandson Matthew Pfeifer, all of Spokane.

PFEIFER, Patrick D. Entered into rest December 19, 2009, at his home on Lake Coeur d'Alene after a courageous three year battle with pancreatic cancer. Patrick was born June 22, 1947 to Larry and Edith Pfeifer. He attended elementary school in Spokane and graduated from North Central High School and received his bachelor's degree from Eastern Washington University. Patrick will long be remembered for his coaching career which spanned four decades, coaching numerous sports, state champion athletes, and establishing strong athletic traditions at his schools. He taught 15 years at Lewis & Clark and 15 years at Ferris. He coached football for 18 years at LC, 11 at Ferris as the Head Coach, and most recently concluded eight years coaching at Central Valley. His coaching also included many years of track and field at both LC and Ferris. In 1992, Patrick was a Disney Teacher award recipient. He was recently honored with the Washington State Football Coaches Golden Helmet Award, the Washington State Coaches Association Lifetime Achievement Award, and inducted into the Track & Field Hall of Fame for the State of Washington. Patrick served as President of the Washington State Coaches Association from 1990-1992. Patrick was a caring and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and made it his life's purpose to see that those around him lived life to the fullest and encouraged this with integrity, class, and happiness. He was a mentor, a hero, a teacher, a coach, and above all a wonderful human being.
