Survived By: Steve is survived by his wife Esther and their two sons: Joshua (Jenny) of New York and Daniel of Los Angeles, his mother Earline of Spokane, sister Susan (Lee) Karavitis of Casper, brother Paul(Jennie) of Spokane, and extended family.

Reverend COCHRAN, Jesse Steven (Age 57) Steve was born in Spokane, Washington on June 29, 1951 to Jesse and Earline Cochran. He graduated from Ferris High School in 1969. Steve was a Boy Scout who loved nature and life. He enjoyed camping and had many great adventures that included picking huckleberries, fishing, hiking and mountain climbing with his family and friends. On Mother's Day, 1971, Steve became a born-again Christian and became involved with the Spokane "Jesus People" for a couple of years. He attended the Canadian Bible College, in Regina, Saskatchewan and met his sweetheart, Esther Chao. They were married on Mother's Day, 1976 in Garland Alliance Church, Spokane, Washington. Steve received his BA in 1977. Right after his graduation, Steve pastored the C&MA Chapel in Bly, Oregon for three years. He was ordained as The Christian and Missionary Alliance (The C&MA) minister. He returned to Regina and received his Master's degree from the Canadian Theological Seminary in 1981. In the summer of 1981, he and Esther went to Taiwan as missionaries with The C&MA for 8 years. Steve studied Chinese and then planted the Da An Church (Great Peace) in Taipei, and the Zhen Dao (True Way) Church in Kaohsiung. The Cochrans returned to the States in the early 90s. Steve pastored the Tri-Cities Chinese Alliance Church in Richland, Washington, the New Life Chinese Alliance Church in Whittier, California, and the Rowland Heights Community Christian Church in Los Angeles, California. Steve and Esther went to China in 2006. They were involved in HIV/AIDS awareness training in Wuhan, and later became English teachers in Xiamen until October of 2008. They returned to Spokane where Steve rested from all his labors on December 16, 2008 and to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Steve was a godly man with great passion for Jesus and great compassion for the Chinese people. He is greatly loved and missed by his friends here in the States and around the world.
