Survived By: Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Gary; two daughters, Carolyn Sorensen and Monica Mattox, both of Spokane; a son, Nicholas Sorensen of Spokane; her parents, Maudie and Bernie Fellin of Moran Prairie; five sisters, Anna Fellin of Spokane, Sandra Fellin of Portland, Karen Peterson of Phoenix, and R. Tammy Fellin and Cynthia Langston, both of Olympia; four brothers, Stephen and Glenn Fellin, both of Portland, Douglas Fellin of Bothell, Wash., and Michael Fellin of Spokane; and three grandchildren.

Shirley Jean (Fellin) Mattox, 48, a longtime resident of Spokane, died Wednesday. She was born in Lewistown, Mont. She graduated from Ferris High School in 1972 and attended Spokane Community College and Spokane Falls Community College. Mrs. Mattox was a restaurant and bar manager and later worked for XN Technologies in Cheney for eight years. She was a member of the Moran Grange. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, embroidery, sewing, fishing, camping and bowling. Published on 7/12/2003
