Survived By: Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Elizabeth Cortez of Murrieta, Calif.; three sons, Brian Triplett, Mark Triplett and Craig Triplett, all at home; a sister, Sharon Zhu<> of Federal Way, Wash.; and three brothers, Greg Triplett and Stan Triplett, both of Spokane, and George Triplett of Coronado, Calif.

Gale Edmund Triplett, 51, who was born in Pullman, died Sunday. He was a longtime resident of Spokane. He lived his early years in Bellingham and moved with his family to Spokane at the age of 10. He attended Sacajawea Junior High and graduated from Ferris High School in 1968. Mr. Triplett attended Eastern Washington University until entering the Army in 1971. He served for three years at Fort Lewis near Tacoma as a company clerk in a field artillery company. He married his wife, Margy, in 1972, and the couple moved back to Spokane in 1974. He re-enrolled at EWU and in 1976 graduated with a degree in parks and recreation. Mr. Triplett also attended the Ron Bailie School of Broadcast and received a first-class radio license. He worked in Christian radio in Lewistown and Great Falls, Mont., from 1980 to 1982. He returned to Spokane and worked for the Christian radio stations KRSS and KTSL. Mr. Triplett took tours of Israel in 1994, 1995 and 1997. In recent years he worked for Logan Industries and at the Fairchild Air Force Base commissary. He had been a member of Calvary Chapel since 1983. He was on the church's baseball team, which won first place in the Christian Athletic Association's A-2 Division in 1987. He also coached the church's men's softball team and sang in the choir. Published on 9/7/2001
