| What I've done since high school: | Well, it is said, "Not all who wander are lost", and I have wondered quite a bit. After meeting and marrying my French husband, Eddy, in Spokane in 2003, we moved and lived in Chicago for two years while going to school. I worked nights and weekends making lenses in a lab for Lenscrafters, I wonderful company, I worked for for 8 years, and studied French during the day at the University of Illinois at Chicago. After my husband graduated, we relocated to charming, friendly, much smaller, much greener, Bowling Green, Kentucky. We've lived there for 7 years and have no plans of moving. I finished my degree in French with a duel degree in Spanish and education. After graduating in 2008, I found it tricky finding a full time teaching position so I volunteered as an English teacher to African refugees at our International center and later mashed together 3 part time jobs including teaching Spanish at an elementary school and also very interestingly, teaching at a preschool in Spanish to children of local migrant workers. So all that was awesome. My husband and I decided to expand our family in 2009, but I lost my job(s) around the time my daughter, Lucie, was born due to no maternity leave rights (lame). After spending most of a year home with my new rambunctious daughter, I went after a job teaching French at a new, enormous high school (looks like a shopping mall!) in town, and was very lucky to get it. I have been teaching French part-time, very happily for two years now and have never seen friendlier, more polite, respectable kids. Between that and my awesome husband and crazy, cute daughter, I feel pretty blessed. |
| Goals for the future: | Oh, I'm juggling a lot of things as it is, but if I could I'd love to have another daughter, so Lucie could have a sister. Other than that, I'm good. |
| Comments: | Well, this is an awesome website/forum. I've thought about old friends and acquaintances from Spokane, especially Ferris, over the years, and would love to chat and hear how everyone's been doing. - Liz Cuisinier (a.k.a Elizabeth Morris) |
