John Sepolen - Class Of 1966

John Wesley "Rick" Sepolen died peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2014. Beloved grandfather, father, brother, uncle and friend, Rick was born on December 16, 1947 in Spokane, Washington. He graduated from Ferris High School in 1966 and attended Eastern Washington University. Upon graduation, he was hired by KING-TV as a cameraman and later became one of the official photographers for the early Seahawks games. In 1984, he began his career at Metro where he was recognized for his outstanding service as a Transit Operator. In 2010, he was elected to serve as Vice President for the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) 587. He became known for his strong leadership and mediation skills in resolving union issues. He retired in 2012 from the ATU 587 with a distinguished service record. Rick was a dedicated Mason and Past Master of True Resolution Lodge #16 of Vancouver B.C. and Grand Historian for the most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Washington and jurisdiction. His loving and altruistic spirit will continue to shine and enrich those he touched. He will be most remembered for the selfless ways he cared for people, his watch collection, interest in cars, his embroidery ability, his love for books, music and laughter. Rick is survived by a host of friends and family, his beloved dog Thor, and his long-time companion and love, Deborah. As a testament to his faith in God and his love for St. Therese parish, Rick requested that remembrances in his name be made to St. Therese Catholic Church - 3416 East Marion Street, Seattle, WA 98122.
